35, really?

I can hardly believe I'm 35. That sounds sooooo old! Well not sooooooo old I suppose. But it doesn't sound young anymore. That is for sure. To be honest my body is starting to feel older and sluggish and a lot of that is weight and lack of exercise. So, what am I doing for my 35th?? I'm joining a gym! LOL Well, actually I already joined yesterday. I have a Fit Assessment on Wednesday and then I am meeting with a personal trainer a few times to create a plan. (Thanks for the bday present honey! Hopefully, I'll still be thanking you next week when I can't get out of bed because I'm so sore.)
So, my goal is to stop talking/complaining about my body and do something about it. I'm so tired of hearing myself. I'm a broken record.
Wow, I really got off on a tangent there. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a great birthday today celebrating this morning with Blake and Andrew and then going out with a group of girlfriends to hang out, shop, maybe get our nails done and eat dinner. Perfect!
Here are some pictures down memory lane...

Always the tomboy...
I think this may have been the first dress I ever wore. I was in Kindergarten. I still remember how much I LOVED this dress.

Water fun

Yesterday Andrew and I met some friends at a small spray park. The kids had so much fun getting wet. Andrew got hit a few times when he couldn't run out of the way fast enough and then you have his little friend who stands directly over the sprayer begging to get drenched. It was so funny to watch how different the two of them play.

Later Andrew and I went to the movies to see Up It was a super cute and Andrew loved it.

Nana is here!

Nana flew out on Thursday and surprised Andrew. He was so taken aback when we picked him up from school and Nana was there. He wasn't quite sure what to do. He just kept hugging her and staring at her. So cute!

Yesterday we planted some more vegetables and hung out in the backyard. I got some Gymboree bubbles for Andrew to play with. If anyone has little ones who like to blow bubbles these are a must. They bubbles last forever and the little blower it comes with is awesome. It produces TONS and TONS of bubbles.

We are looking forward to this holiday weekend. Andrew has soccer this morning and I have a family photo session. Then we have a BBQ Sunday and another one on Monday. :-)

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Busy, busy, busy

Don't worry we are here. I've just been super busy with my business. I had a session Sunday, yesterday and another one on Saturday. Plus, I'm waiting for a baby! Yes, you heard (read) me right. Not my baby but a friends. :-)

My first newborn session will be in the next week. I'm soooooooooooo excited!! The baby was due yesterday and if she doesn't come by Friday they are inducing.

Speaking of a first session... I had my first maternity session yesterday. I was a little nervous because I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do but it all feel into place and I got some great shots. I'll post a few here but head over to my photography blog for more.

We've been enjoying the awesome weather we are having. Warm mornings and cool afternoons with a few thunderstorms here and there. Ahhh.. I love Colorado weather!

I'll leave you with a few photos...

eda_mommy??

Yes, it's a slow news day in the Wilson household today. I am writing about edamame. Andrew was just so excited to try something new (yes Andrew. I know it's hard to believe Mr. peanut butter and jelly and mac n cheese is actually trying new foods!) I'm really trying to provide him with more healthful snacks. You gotta start them young.

I saw a new friend of mine (Shelly) on Monday and her kids were eating this and I had forgot how much I love it as well. So, we were at Costco and I picked up these great little bowls. You nuke them for 3 minutes and they produce perfect edamame to snack on. You can't beat it! Thank you Shelly for giving me this idea!!

Andrew loved it! I think he loved the process of eating them as much as eating the little beans.

So, that's it. Told ya, slow news day. ;-)

Take me out to the ball game...

take me out to the show. Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack...

We took Andrew to his very first baseball game today. Go Rockies!! We all had a great time. We watched the game, ate, yelled for the Rockies, ate some more, laughed at the vendors running around talking in funny voices, ate, tried to catch fly balls then ate some more.

Andrew did so well. We weren't sure how long he would last but he made it to the 8th inning and we decided to beat the crowd and head out. We took the RTD train into downtown so he even got to ride the train twice today. Not sure what he enjoyed more. :-)

Here are some pics from our outing today. We took the small camera so I got a few shots of him before we left for the ballpark with my good camera.

Okay so he doesn't look very happy in the picture but I swear he was having fun. We had just gotten there and he was bit overwhelmed with everything. Plus, the guy that took our tickets told Andrew they normally don't let players come in this entrance but he'd make an exception for him and then told him to play hard. Well of course when we got to our seat Andrew wanted to go play on the field. Uhhh... maybe in a few years son!

We were so close to field. It was awesome!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! I hope everyone had a great day!

Okay, it does get better.

In my last post about the Mother's Day flower pot I said it doesn't get much better than this. Yes it does! Andrew came home with a Mother's Day letter today. It was a fill in the blanks and here is what it said (what he filled in is in bold and underlined.)

My Special Mother
By ANDREW
Mother is the most wonderful mom in the world!
She's as pretty as a FLOWER.
She weighs 60 lbs. and she's 10 FEET tall.
Her favorite food is SALAD.
In the good old days when mom was little,
she used to PLAY.
I think mom looks funny when she
GETS IN THE SHOWER.
I wish mom would PLAY with me everyday.
I wouldn't trade my mother for NOTHING.
Isn't that the cutest letter ever? I love him for saying I weigh 60 pounds, not sure yet if I like the "Mom looks funny when she gets in the shower." ??? LOL

Mother's Day Flower Pot

Andrew made me a flower pot for Mother's Day in school today. He was so proud of himself and so excited to give it to me when I picked him up. It doesn't get much better than this...

Tiptoe Through the Tulips

Andrew and I took off this morning for a mini photo session. The outdoor shopping center by us has hundreds and hundreds of blooming red tulips. We were there this weekend and I knew we had to come back to get some photos. The lighting this morning was beautiful and Andrew was very cooperative. Paying your child to model for you goes a long way! LOL

Rolling & wrestling

The weather was so beautiful yesterday so we spent some time in the backyard. The boys rolled down our grass hill together and then wrestled each other. One of Andrew's favorite things to do with his Daddy.

Blake has only been gone two nights the whole month of April! He hasn't been home this much in well over 3 years. It's been great having him home more. Andrew is loving it!

Good times...
