Snow & Swim

First we woke up to this.... really? Unbelievable. They said we might get a dusting but we got about 3 inches and it was still snowing when we woke up. The snow was all gone by the afternoon though.

Then, Andrew had his first swim lesson for this year. He tried it last year and loved it at first but for some reason got spooked. He's back at it again and loving it.

Soccer!

We finally had our first soccer game of the season (the season started a month ago but every game had been canceled due to weather.) Andrew had the best time out there and didn't want to take a break (EVER.) Everytime he'd kick the ball, he'd run over to us and yell "I did it!!!"

Then he made a goal and he was beyond excited and happy with himself. I'm so glad he is enjoying himself.

Oh and our team won! (We aren't supposed to keep score but it's hard not to when your child scored the only goal of the game. hee hee )

Go Tornado's!!!! They are do the tornado dance here to kick off the game.

Beautiful day for swim?

On Wednesday our weekly playgroup met out at a resevoir near us and the kids begged to get in the water. What started as "Can I touch the water with my hand?" turned into "Can you take my pants off so they don't get wet?" That water was soooooo cold (remember we just about 3 feet of snow a few days ago) but they had a great time. The sun was shining and it was in the 70's. We've had beautiful weather this week and the snow is all gone. Back down in the 50's this weekend with thunderstorms. (woo hoo!)

The kids rode their bikes along a trail to get to the park/beach area. I was bummed that I took my point and shoot camera because I could have gotten some great shots with my big camera. Oh well, that is what I get for being lazy!

My own website!!

I just put the finishing touches on my new photography website. I'm so excited!! I'm proud to say I built the site by myself, figuring out the html code and graphics. It was by far not the easiest thing I've ever done but I learned a lot in the process. (I'm so glad I'm done though!)

You can check it out here: http://www.tamiwilsonphotography.com/

Oh and I have three sessions set up for this next week. Yippee!

Homemade Animal Crackers!

Andrew recieved the cutest animal cracker cookie cutters from his Papa & Gaga for Easter. He was so excited to make them yesterday. We made the dough and he was pretty bummed we had to wait two hours for it to chill in the fridge. So, we played outside in the melting snow (see photos below.) But, the wait was definitely worth it. They are so stinkin' cute and taste great too. He had so much fun cutting them and then making the impression.

It made a lot of cookies so we shared them with our neighbors. :-)

Here is the front and back of the cookie cutter....

How cute our these?? (our first batch came out a little crunch)

Snowy day

The amount of snow we got and are still getting is unbelievable!! I think we are at around 3 feet now. We went out this morning to try and clean the driveway out a bit. Our neighbors let us borrow their snow blower. Definitely helpful but it isn't working too well in this wet heavy snow. But it's better than shoveling the whole thing!

We made a spring snowman complete with flower stalks for arms. :-)

Our backyard...

Here is a closer look at Sally the Snowman. (Andrew named her.)

UPDATE

It's still snowing!! We are at about 2 feet so far. Hard to believe it's going to be 70 on Tuesday.

Spring Wonderland

Snow beautiful snow! The weather has been completely wacky today. It rained overnight and then turned to snow this morning. Then it turned back into rain then more snow with thunder and lightning. (That was pretty cool!) Now it's still snowing and it's not supposed to stop until Saturday afternoon.

It's a real wet storm so the snow is super heavy. I had to go shake out our trees and bushes earlier so we didn't have any broken branches. I posted a photo of one of our pine trees before and after a shake.

While checking out our trees I saw this pretty little bird perched on a snowy branch. I ran inside to get my camera hoping he'd stick around for a few minutes. Thankfully he did so I could get some shots of him. His color is so pretty against the white background. You know he's thinking where did my sunshine go?

As usual Andrew had so much fun playing in the snow and throwing snowballs at me while I worked. He was excited because his snow balls were staying together with this wet snow. Usually our snow is very dry and not very good for snowballs or snowmen. I'm sure we'll be making a snowman tomorrow. We just both got too cold to do that today.

Blake is on a trip and will hopefully make it in tonight. Famous last words... "don't wait up for me."

Blog Makeover

Out with the old in with the new. After revamping my photography blog I felt our family blog really needed a new look as well. I was initially inspired by my friend Michelle, she had her blog professionally done and it is so cute!

So, after spending a few hours this morning (thanks to insomnia) we have a fresh new blog. The lack of sleep has to be good for something, right?

Cutie Patootie

I photographed our neighbors little boy the other day and just finished up editing his photos. He is a keeper for sure. He's become my little baby model. Thanks to my neighbors who "loan" him out to me!

You can check out my photography blog for more photos of little Alex.

Enjoying the Sunshine

After having a rainy weekend we have been out the last few days enjoying the warm sunny weather. Another storm is heading in tomorrow so we made the most of it today playing in the backyard. We are supposed to get some thunderstorms Wed and Thurs. I'm so excited!! I love watching the awesome lightning storms we get in the spring.

My beautiful guy...

I caught him in one of his loud belly laughs with his head thrown back. We were making up names for the trucks and mine was called Gertrude. Apparently that is a pretty funny name to a 4 year old.
