What a trip!

We had such a great visit in California over the Thanksgiving holiday. Everyone came to Nellie & Roger's house the day before and of Thanksgiving. We had such a nice time visiting and catching up. Words can't describe how much fun Andrew had. He was just on Cloud 9 the entire time we were there. To say he had a great time with all of his cousins is an understatment. He didn't stop the whole time we were there! In fact last night he went to bed at 6:30 p.m. and woke up at 8 a.m. It's so much fun to watch all the kids play together. Here are TONS of pictures from our visit....

I love this photo of the cousins together. I can not believe they were all looking at the camera. Even baby!

Andrew was so into Katie's DS.

All the kids couldn't get enough of the DS.

Here comes trouble...

We're outta here!

We leave this morning for California!! Andrew tells everyone who will listen that he is getting on an airplane and going to California. He is so excited and I know he is going to have a blast even though he isn't feeling 100%. Thankfully the antibiotics are supposed to work pretty quickly so by tomorrow he'll probably be back to normal.

As I'm sure you noticed, I've updated the blog with Christmas music. I love all the old classic Christmas songs! Enjoy. :-)

Since I won't be here. I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy 20th Anniversary!

Wow, 20 years. Way to go Steph and Mike! Congratulations! Okay so enough with the sentimental stuff now it's time to laugh at some pictures. :-) hee hee

First you may notice the lovely shade of pink, err...HOT pink that I along with four other bridesmaids were forced oops, I mean were lucky enough to wear to your wedding. Seriously, hot pink? Not to mention the giant black bow in the back. I swore one day I would get you back. Unfortunately, I didn't have a traditional wedding with traditional colors so I couldn't return the favor of making you wear a hideous bridesmaid dress. However, I do believe posting these photos for the entire world to see may be payback enough!! LOL Although I am the one wearing pink now, aren't I? Hmm.... oh well. ;-)

But in all seriousness I am very happy for you two love birds and am so excited we will be there in California to celebrate this day with you! Can't wait to see you!

WARNING: YOU MAY NEED SUNGLASSES TO VIEW THE FOLLOWING PHOTOS. THE PINK IS ULTRA BRIGHT AND MAY DO ACTUAL DAMAGE TO YOUR CORNEA IF PRECAUTION IS NOT TAKEN. (Sorry I couldn't help myself)
The bridal party in all their (hot pink) glory:

Here comes the brides, all dressed in pink OH I mean WHITE! (I'm really having too much fun here)

My sister really was a beautiful bride. I'm not even going to mention the pink light in the background. Oops! But really she looked so pretty that day and I remembering wanting to be a princess like her one day.

My brother Mike and his family. Look how handsome he is! Hey - didn't you get the memo about the hot pink???
My mom and sister. Notice the pink light backdrop again. Hmm... I'm starting to notice a trend.

Well that was fun!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

On our blog and also in our home! Poor Andrew is sick and we were stuck inside all day yesterday. So, I decided to pull out the Christmas decorations. Here are some pics of our tree. I decided to put the small one up this year. I just did not feel like getting on a ladder. But, I can't help but think "puny" when I see our tree. I love the decorations but it just needs to be a couple feet taller! Oh well - Andrew loves it and that is all that matters.

It's a bird, it's a plane...

it's SUPERMAN!!!

We took a trip to Gap kids today to pick up a few things for Andrew and oh my gosh the world stopped turning when he saw these retro super hero t-shirts they had. I really thought he'd forget about them by the time we were ready to check out but he carried the Superman shirt through the store and wouldn't let it out of his sight. So $26 later - yes I know it's ridiculous for a t-shirt but sometimes you pick your battles and I didn't want to ruin his whole day over $26 . It is pretty cute and at least I know he'll get some use out of it. He has already said he wants to wear it on the plane next week when we go to California since Superman flies you know. ;-)

Thankful

In honor of Thanksgiving, I thought I’d try and find things each day that I’m thankful for. Now these things may seem small or insignificant but they are still things I’m thankful for. Here is what I was thankful for yesterday:

1: Coffee. I am not myself until I’ve had my cup of joe in the morning. So, the rest of my family should be thankful for this one too!

2:It’s almost time to pull out the Christmas tree.

3: I painted Christmas ornaments with Andrew yesterday. It’s fun acting like a four-year-old.

4: I can dance like a complete idiot to 80’s music with my son and he thinks I’m cool. Plus, he loves the music. Not sure how long this will last!

5: Crafting with Andrew. I know scrapping is typically for girls but I love that we can “craft” together. He loves rummaging through my punches.

6: For the little things kids say to may you feel better. This was priceless yesterday. Andrew and I went in a pet store and there was a kitty there that looked just like Kozmo. Andrew and I even held her. Like an idiot, I cried for the next hour or two. When we got home, I was still crying. Andrew asked me what was wrong. I told him how I had a kitty named Kozmo and the kitty at the store reminded me of her and it made me sad. To which he says, “That’s okay Mommy. I can just ask Santa if he has a Kozmo and he can give you her and then you can cuddle her and love her. Is that the deal Mommy?” (Is that the deal is his favorite saying right now.) How sweet is my little boy? J

7: I’m thankful I have neighbors who are crazier about Christmas than me. When I put Andrew down to bed last night the house across the street had their Christmas lights up and on already! Don’t get me wrong. I love it! I’m just thankful for those people because then I don’t look so bad and maybe I can get Blake to put the lights up this week.

8: I’m thankful for those moments when out of the blue Andrew comes up to me and says, “Mommy, I love you.” It gets me every time.

9: Lastly, I’m thankful for silly movies that make you laugh. I watched What Happens in Vegas last night and while it was by far not a great movie. It did make me laugh.

So, what are you thankful for?

Here are some pictures from yesterday.
