Summer is back.

It's back to summer here in Colorado! Lots of sunshine today and 80 degrees. Perfect. We met up with friends at a park for some playtime and a picnic.

Summer
The summer sun in the sky,
Shining, shining up so high
Makes it warm for outside fun.
To play at the park and run,
To swim and hike and fish,
And to go on a picnic if you wish.

Nicki had a serious Lunchables sandwich going on. More cheese please?

Gotta love those cheetos fingers.

Feels like fall.

Yesterday was down right cold!! It was 55 most of the day and rainy. So, Andrew and I took advantage of the fall like weather and baked. We put on some tunes, lit our gingerbread spice candle and made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins with cream cheese icing. YUM-O!

If you've never had these muffins you have to make them (with or without the icing.) I found the muffin recipe here and then made my own cream cheese frosting.

In the words of a friend from New York.... these muffins are slap your momma good. (It still doesn't make sense to me but it makes me laugh everytime I hear it. )

Cream Cheese frosting
8 ounces cream cheese
5 tbs butter
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar

Mix all ingredients well until smooth.

My little beater cleaner.

"SUPER" cute

I came across this amazing etsy seller who makes the coolest superhero costumes. She also has a website Little Hero Capes. There are many different styles to choose from and you can even do your child's initial. Which is what I did. So, coming soon to a blog near you it's................... SUPER ANDREW!! lol
But seriously, aren't the cuffs the cutest?

Christmas in July

So, I saw this post about the December Daily album on Ali Edward's blog and it really got me thinking I'm going to put my album together much earlier this year so I'm not so rushed around the holidays (wishful thinking, right?) If you aren't sure what I'm talking about see this post from last year. Also, my album from last year can be found here. At the time it was a lot of work but so worth it and I love looking back at it now.

What do I do this year? I found an album I like at Michaels. Now I just need to start gathering things and put this puppy together. I think I'll be using a lot of digital items similar to last year but I like having all the textures of the papers so it won't be all digital. I'm sure Miss Ali will have lots more ideas that I will use and CHA is taking place right now so lots of new scrapbook items will be out soon. Oh joy!! If only I had more hours in the day.

Andrew. Right now.

LOVES: mac n cheese, corn on the cob, chicken nuggets, pb&j, milk, milk, milk, pancakes, marshmallows, transformers, swimming, going to the gym (child center - he BEGS to go), wresting with daddy, baking with mommy, dinosaurs (can't wait for walking with the dinosaurs this weekend), edamame, playing with his playgroup pals, dressing up as any superhero, reading books, counting everything, riding his bike, our garden.

DISLIKES: Hmm... soda, listening. (Really? I can't think of anything else? Andrew, you've always been an easy child. )

Age: 4 years 7 months

******************

All you moms out there take some time to document your child every now and then. It's so much fun for you to look back at how much they've changed through the years. Plus, they'll love it when they are older.

Can Madison come over?

I'm so thankful Andrew has a neighborhood playmate. They were playing in the backyard again the other night. Swimming, chasing Cleitus (the rabbit), playing in the sandbox and just being silly.

Storyboards

So, I've recently gotten into creating storyboards for my photography clients and I couldn't wait to make one of Andrew, especially when I saw the water shots in the backyard. It's a 10x20 and I can't figure out if I'm going to frame it or have it mounted. Decisions, decisions...

It feels like summer.

We have had some warmer weather lately and it's really starting to feel like summer finally. It's only the end of July for goodness sake. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. This summer has been so pleasant but it's nice when it's warm enough at night to hang out in the backyard and let Andrew play in the water.

This particular night, Andrew and his little friend Madison were playing and Blake decided to get them soaking wet by spraying them with the hose when they came around the corner on their bikes. They loved every minute of it.

California Bound

I'm headed back out to California this morning. Dad is having a heart procedure at Stanford. I'm so relieved they figured out why he is so tired and dizzy and that there is something they can do to fix it. I'll feel so much better when I'm there at the hospital, being this far away when things like this happen is so difficult. I'll be there in about 5 hours. :-)

Say a prayer for my Dad please!

California Adventure

We had a great time visiting family in California. We split our time between Papa & Gaga's house and Nana & Papa's house. Andrew had a blast with all of his cousins and didn't want to come home. He never stopped the whole time we were there and was exhausted when we got home. I think he *might* be caught up with his sleep. Maybe. :-)

As usual, I took a ton of pictures and have lots to share...

Popo came for a visit...

Andrew learned how to shoot a gun! (yikes!)

Andrew did so much better this year with the fireworks. He did cover his ears for the loud ones but he wasn't running for the house!
