Road Trip...

We are leaving this morning on a road trip! Fun! We are staying two nights in Aspen! :-) I've never been there so I'm pretty excited. We are actually going on this trip to go to an airshow in Grand Junction but thought it be would nice to stay in Aspen and check out all of the gorgeous fall colors up in the mountains. Apparently, this weekend is THE weekend to see all the fall colors.

It's about a 4 hour drive to Aspen and then we are driving to Grand Junciton and back and... well we are going to be in the car quite a bit so I thought I'd make a goodie bag for Andrew with treats, puzzles, games and coloring books. Below are some pics. I made the I SPY game with a bunch of photos I found on the web. I think he's really going to like that one.

Well, have a great weekend! I'll be back on Monday with lots of great pictures ;-)

I love my life...

Have you ever stopped to think about what you love most about your life? What makes you the happiest? Do you ever have those moments when you say I want to remember this forever. Well I'm having one of those right now.

These are just a few of the little things that made my day yesterday...

  • Andrew yelling for me to come get him out of his room in the morning and saying "It's not time for night night Mommy?" When I open the door.

  • After getting a shower and rgetting ready for the day hearing Andrew say "Mommy, you are a beautiful princess."

  • Driving back home from dropping Andrew off at preschool and seeing the fighter jets taking off and climbing in the sky. You can set your watch to it. Every weekday morning at 9 a.m. Guess this one doesn't make me super happy but it is comforting. I like routine ;-)

  • Picking Andrew up from school and the look in his eyes when he sees me walk in the room and then runs at warp speed yelling "Mommy! Mommy!" and giving me a big bear hug. It doesn't get much better than that and he does it EVERY time I pick him up.

  • Watching Andrew when Blake drives in the driveway after being at work for a couple days (we wait for him sometimes out front) and when Andrew sees his truck he yells "Yook Mommy!! It's Daddy! Daddy's home!" He is so excited he can hardly contain himself. Then he runs up to Blake and give him a big hug and says "Daddy, are you going to play with me?"

Well I could go on and on but those are just a few things that made my day yesterday. How about you? Everyday is a gift. Some days are better than others but that just makes us appreciate the good days even more.

Have a great Wednesday! ;-)

Birthday Party!

This past weekend we went to a birthday party for Andrew's best buddy Chase. It was a Lightening McQueen themed party and wait until you see the cake! My friend Jenny did an awesome job decorating it herself. The kids loved it!

I just had to include this photo of Nicole - she is so beautiful!

Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na....

Batman!!!!

We couldn't get Andrew out of his Halloween costume most of the day yesterday. He really thinks he is Batman. The only way we could get him to take it off is by telling him he had to keep it a secret that he was Batman and get dressed in his Bruce Wayne clothes. Thankfully he fell for it!

Sis - is he just like Kyle or what??

Andrew is getting really excited about Halloween and can't wait to dress up as Batman, uh wait the Joker or is it Darth Vader? Just depends on when you are asking him what he wants to be. It changes hourly!

Yesterday I was putting together a scrapbook album of all of his Halloween costumes. (I thought it'd be fun to look back at each year all in one album) and he saw his costume from last year and wanted to play dress up. So, of course I grabbed my camera and started shooting. :-) Here are a couple pics from yesterday and then I thought I'd share the pictures I used in his Halloween costume album.

The boys...

This past weekend Blake amused me and let me take pictures of him and Andrew. We went to the clubhouse in our subdivision and got some great shots. I love the picture below of him and Andrew walking. When Andrew turned around and looked at me I knew it was going to be an awesome picture. I also love the black and white photos of them laughing. Oh and I had to throw in the photo of Andrew by the HUGE old windmill.

8 years ago today....

I was marrying my best friend. Okay so I'm getting a little sentimental but a girl is allowed to do that every now and then, right?

We've been married for 8 years but have been together for 14!! I made Blake a little mini album with some old pictures of us. So I have to share those pictures with you. Wait until you see the first photo we ever took of us. He was 18 (almost 19) and I was 20. Check out my eyebrows!! What the heck was I thinking? I'm no Brooke Shields.

Fast forward 4 years....

I think this is my favorite photo though.... the day our lives changed forever more.

Don't read this if you're on a diet...

Andrew and I made pretzel hugs yesterday afternoon. CAUTION: THEY ARE HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!! I got them from Becky Higgins blog. I even found the same little containers she has. How cute would these be to give to the neighbors around Halloween? They were super simple to make which is always a plus.

As always here are some pics of us baking them. :-)

A black eye???

Blake picked Andrew up from preschool yesterday and saw the purple on his right eye and just about flipped thinking it was a black eye. What 3 year old gets a black eye at school? And, if one does there better be another kid with a bigger black eye, right? LOL I'm just kidding.. well sort of. I'm sure you've guessed by now that our little Picasso just decided to color his eye when he was using markers.

Here is a close up of his masterpiece. :-)

Just some pics from this past weekend...

I love the look on Andrew's face in this picture. He saw his Daddy tightening up the table umbrella with a wrench so he ran and got his play wrench to help out.

Here are a couple photos of me & Andrew. I'm not a big fan of them but I hardly have any photos of myself so I guess I'll just deal. ;-)
