Playgroup Valentine's Day Party

Here are a few pictures from our playgroup Valentine's Day party yesterday afternoon. The kids had a great time jumping on the trampoline, playing in the sandbox, making a butterfly craft, eating yogurt parfaits, and just running and playing outside. I was too busy socializing so I didn't get very many pictures.

I did snag a few photos of my friend's little girl Nicole. She is such a cutie pie.

This was hilarious!! Samantha's hair was out of control with static. So funny!

Valentine's Day goodies

Our weekly playgroup is having a Valentine's Day party this afternoon and I made some treats for the kiddos. Yes it's 10 days before Vday but we are doing it early because of everyone's schedules. Besides, it's going to be beautiful today 65 degrees and lots of sunshine! That in and of itself is a reason for a party!

I got little glass jars from Hobby Lobby and used my Spellbinders dies to create the labels. The front label says Hugs & Kisses and it's from a digital kit by Artwarehouse. You can get it here. Since my theme is Hugs & Kisses I filled the jars with Hershey Kisses and Hugs. Cute, huh? :-) If you haven't tried the Hugs and Kisses out for Valentine's Day. You are missing out! Cherry cordial filling Kisses, white chocolate and rasberry swirl Hugs, and dark chocolate with rasberry flavor Kisses. Yummy!

This label is digital and I just used Photoshop to change the colors. You can buy the digital kit here.

I'm doing something similar for Andrew's preschool teachers but I'm putting the jar in a red bucket. I'll post that when I'm done. Just for those of you looking for ideas for Valentine's Day goodies!

How cute is this?

I saw this Tooth Fairy kit on Ali Edwards blog. How adorable is this??? I know Andrew has awhile before he starts losing his teeth but it's never too early to plan for these things. ;-)

Basement update

We (well mostly Blake) have been busy working on the basement. We've painted the ceiling white. Before the walls and the ceiling were all the same color, which was a yellowish off white color. We've never liked that color and it looks so much better now. It was a pain to paint but definitely worth it. Then Blake moved electrical outlets and surround sound speaker wires around and capped off the water to the kitchenette area we tore out. Lastly, he put up beadboard in the living room area of the basement. It looks so nice! It's far from being finished but we are getting there.

What is left to do?

1. Beadboard in the bathroom and other column

2. Finish all the trim on the beadboard

3. Paint beadboard

4. Paint all the walls

5. Install the hardwood floor

6. Put in the new bathroom cabinet.

Speaking of hardwood. We picked it up yesterday. My mouth dropped open when I saw all of the boxes, 26 to be exact. We made 26 trips up and down the side of our house carrying these 50 pounds boxes of hardwood. 26!! Now I'm thankful we have a walk-out basement so we didn't have to carry them in the house down the interior staircase but I am still sore today! Wimp. I know.
