Sledding Videos

Blake got home last night so we all went sledding this morning before he had togo back to work this afternoon. Andrew had so much fun and didn't want to stop. We lured him back home with hot cocoa. :-) Don't forget to turn my music off at the bottom to view the videos.

Sledding Fun

Andrew has been patiently waiting to go sledding all winter and he finally got his wish today. He and I went sledding for over 2 hours and had a blast. We came back home and had some hot cocoa and are resting now. I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow. How sad is that?

Spring Snow Storm!

We finally got a big spring snow storm. Yippee!! It's been snowing all day and is suppose to continue through tomorrow morning. I've really been missing all the snow days we usually have. We haven't gone sledding yet and we are definitely doing that tomorrow when it finally stops. Andrew can't wait!
He ventured out a bit this afternoon because he just couldn't wait any longer. I warned him it was too cold (10 degrees, -4 with the windchill) but he didn't care. He lasted about 10 minutes but had fun throwing the snow up in the air. I caught a few shots of him doing this.
We spent the rest of the day watching Monsters, Inc. and baking chocolate chip cookies. Snow days are the best.

I'm watching the snow come down and it's awesome! We have a blizzard warning until Friday morning. They are projecting 16-22 inches in our area. I can't wait to go sledding tomorrow. It's been such a dry winter and we haven't played in the snow much. Andrew is beyond excited.

My first photo session!

I've been neglecting this blog because I have been so engrossed in photography and editing software. I had my first (non-Andrew) photo session last Friday. I heart my new camera

This one isn't the best photo but I was so excited to see how sharp his eyes were I had to include it. Also, the one of Andrew's eyes closed. It was his idea to pretend he was sleeping and wanted to make sure I put it on the blog.

I love love love my new camera. It rocks. Really. THANK YOU BLAKE!! Yes, I've only had it a day but I can already tell a big difference in it's performance and quality of photos. At least I think so anyway. ;-)

Frog living in my camera

I'm learning lots of new ways to get those great shots of kids looking directly into the camera and not giving that fake smile. Which, with Andrew can be pretty difficult. So, if it works on him it'll work on most other kids.
This day a frog was living in my camera and Andrew was tasked with trying to find him through my lens. Then he made a noise and that got Andrew even more determined. I also tried yelling out silly names and telling jokes. Worked liked a charm. This day I mostly was trying to get the lighting right and keep that camera still. Work in progress...

Yummy treats

Andrew and I made some chocolate dipped pretzel sticks yesterday afternoon. We had lots of sprinkles left over from Valentine's Day so we used those to decorate the sticks. Yummy!

It's been a week...

since I posted anything on this blog. Wow! Well I'll make up for it with more pics of Andrew. ;-) My new camera lens came yesterday and I'm having sooooo much fun playing around with it. I can hardly wait for my model to get home from preschool today. I took these pictures yesterday and a few came out pretty good but I really need to work on camera shake. The new lens is heavy and I've got to figure out how to keep it still so it can focus correctly.
